LOU AND GARY, I agree that a 5 would be to much for the M-15 and
that the 2.5 yamaha would be better. My problem with the 4hp yamaha
on my M-17 is weight and bulkyness. It is 65 lbs and because my 17
is an older model with the cutout transom you have to be real careful
or the prop will chew a hole in the rudder if you have to go hard
over. The 65 lbs weight is not a problem for the boat but for this
old fart when mounting and dismounting same. For these reasons then,
I am considering a 2.5hp but am concerned that it may not have
sufficient poop to fight a stiff head wind when having to power in
tight channels. Also, am concerned about vibration. Your
experiences will help. Arnold Sharpe, M-17 #265 "LITTLE BREEZE"
