It would be interesting to see how one of your newer deep keel boats stacks up 
against my fin keel M17 (#14) with the cast iron fin with bulb.  I know that 
when my brother owned the boat we would walk away from the keel/CB montgomerys 
to windward.  "Griselda" also appears to heel less than her shallow draft 
counterparts.  Being one of the first M17s, Griselda is as Lyle Hess designed 
her.
