Title: Re: [MOPO] What Venue? 1978 "King Creole" Grande One Panel
This poster is for the ca. 1978 re-release of the movie in France. Ren Chateau simply bought the rights from Paramount and re-released it in France.

He also brought DAWN OF THE DEAD, THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, and MANIAC to french cinemas, all sometime around 1980.

I just bought a R-1978 French one panel from "King Creole". I have seen the original one panel on Dominique's website. This one panel size 47" x 63" was not a re-release grande through Paramount.Art is by Jean Mascii. Was this poster for an Elvis Presley festival a year after his death or? I know that this Michael Curtiz title was his personal favorite based on the Harold Robbin's story "A Stone For Danny Fisher". The title "King Creole" is not in French.
Does anyone on the list know what this one panel was printed for?
Thanks for any and all information!
Best, Tom Pennock
