Hi Dave!  I see you and Phil have some questions regarding Johnny Ramone's auction coming up in Heritage.  I knew Johnny for many years- so, when Johnny knew he would not recover from his cancer, he called me to help him organize his posters for auction.  This decision was completely Johnny's as he wanted to "take care of all business" before he passed away.  He didn't want the burden of managing his collection to fall to his wife.  He also loved his collection.  He loved it like he loved Yankees baseball, Rock N Roll and all of his close friends.  He frequently bought posters for Christmas and birthday presents which he gave out to close friends- his wonderful way of "spreading the fun" of the hobby.  So now Johnny is bequeathing his ultimate present to the rest of his hobby.  He wants his collection to go back into the hobby that brought him so much joy and happiness and he wanted other collectors to enjoy it as m! uch as he did.
In our final talks, Johnny asked me which auction house I thought the material should go to.  I opted for Heritage as I think they currently do the best job of auctioning material.  Johnny liked Heritage as well, so I think he was really just looking for confirmation on his own opinion.
We did run a few pieces in the last Heritage sale, such as a few animation sheets, some Elvis Presley material and the set on Forbidden Planet.  That being said, the rest of his material (horror and science fiction) will be in this upcoming sale on March 17th and 18th.
I really hope everyone checks out the Heritage sale.  I think it's going to be their best yet.  I hope that everyone that wants something from Johhny's collection is able to win and keep his spirit of collecting alive.

I think there was actually an episode of MTV's "Cribs" on which they visited Johnny Ramone's house in LA.  Although they didn't feature the posters, the collection looked pretty incredible.  Ditto the Rob Zombie episode.
