I must be missing emails... because I havent seen any of these threats .. all i saw was some guy talking about monkey skunk furr,,, and then asking me why i  am taking a long time ..
and then I saw people question Heritage , then Bruce as to shill bidding,, and as always about 3-5 times a year we hear about  insert repos.. then  there was a attack on the linenbacker Hughes, and the Joe guy in California, the dealers in Rochester, and the Guy that was on east coast( i forgot his name)
other than that its ebay dealers.. did i leave someone out??

and as for newsgroup list I am only on mopo so have no idea what happend on MPT or style B list.as i dont belong to either
so perhaps JR a timeline could be made with all the players..I think betweenScott you and Sue at learnabout posters you coud gather a List of who seems to instgate the issues..
I agree dealers should not spread propoganda. theold school dealers do this to scare away customers from a dealer .. the problem is that since they are the ones useually spreading Lies and
mistruths it comes back to haunt them as they have to plot a lie for a lie.. and it compounds to thier destruction. the siplistic nature of telling the truth is that the pattern Blossems and begets More
truth.. itsjust the way it works..
so my suggestionis even though it may seem counter productive.. tell people where you are at
honestly.. and tehn they will understnd you as a person or business better,
i have opened my life up and past in hopes that even with blunders Ive made that people will see i
have no intentions of harming a soul, and that perhaps I will be better for my experiances and may even be a catalyst for others . yet I know daily I am just a step away from the things i fear.

As long as there are people that will perservere, there is HOPE.. Scott, Sue JR and the MOPO membership can ad Must not give in to a few carny tricksters that revel in seeing people in angst.

actually I suggest we pray ( or think a positive)  for those that are inflicted with hate and mistruth . they  need  help more
than the ones they attack.. becaue if they had any  one they cared about they would have greater
compassion for thier fellow man and collector community.

best, Tom

It's very sad that Jon has decided MPT has become more trouble than it is worth for him to continue with it. I understand him being personally tired of receiving threats of lawsuits -- although as far as I can tell such threats are empty and it has been proven in court that you cannot sue a public forum like this just because of something an individual members posts. While you might get a jerk-lawyer to file the suit, it would certainly be dismissed by the Judge at the initial hearing. But that's not the point -- Jon is just tired of messing with the threats, even if they have no real teeth, and who can blame him? He's also tried of having to monitor the hundreds of messages a day just to make sure none of them were crossing the line into unwarranted personal attacks. So, now MPT has shut been down and Donnie terminated Style B last week for reasons he has not explained, leaving us all right back where we started on MOPO. I'm sure every one of us agrees that we don't want a similar fate to befall MOPO -- and I believe the guidelines Scott has put in place and the limit on the number of posts per day (and the fact that we don't allow attachments) will all contribute to keeping MOPO a reasonable forum. While we do emphasize trying to stay "on topic" most of the time -- and with good reason (see above) -- we have never been afraid to discuss a transaction gone bad on MOPO -- when either the buyer or the seller has tried every possible means of privately resolving the problem and has no other choice but to bring it up in public, and this seems to have worked fairly well, with only the rare "fire fight" erupted briefly. Hopefully people will remember this is the MOPO tradition and continue to only bring up a "problem"on MOPO if they have tried every other  possible means to resolve it first. No doubt from time to time someone will get a little hot under the collar and post something out of line -- it's happened before and will happen again. People are people. When it does, we can only hope that everyone else remains calm and doesn't throw gasoline on the fire. One new wrinkle we've see lately is that there are a few the dealers who now seem to feel that threatening lawsuits should be their first line of defense whenever anyone mentions their name in anything other than a 100% positive glowing recommendation. I would hope that if Scott does ever receive a threat like this from a dealer that he will publicly post the threat to MOPO along with the dealer's name -- so that we can all promptly boycott that dealer and never buy anything from them again. Of course, that's Scott's call, but I think the poster community needs to take a pro-active stand against this kind of attempt at intimidation by going public with them when they happen. I'm sure if any dealer were to be so foolish as to actually try to pursue a lawsuit against this forum that not only would they rapidly find their business ostracized by the buying public -- but that every member of MOPO would be willing to contribute to a "MOPO legal defense fund" to defray the costs of defending against such a frivolous action -- and to bring a counter-suit. -- JR
