I'm with Randy.............as a seller you are entitled to ask whatever you
want for your poster. The buyer has the choice to decline. If someone
didn't want to sell for $7500 they could have kept their poster. I have many
clients that are looking for high end posters and don't have the time or
inclination to sit on ebay or call around and do the work required to obtain
those posters. They have the choice to say no if the price is too high, but if
that price suits them, then why shouldn't Dave make a commission. What about the
guy that bought the Frankenstein for $500 in a Pennsylvania farm auction and
turned it over for $198,000. Talk about appreciation! More power to
Dave.

What I don't understand is why Dave L is being singled out for
a comment like this. I see major dealers asking for specific pieces
all the time here. Do you folks think that they're buying them for
their personal collections? That they're not going to immediately
mark them up from whatever they pay and sell them at a profit to someone
else? This seems like business as usual for most dealers so I don't
how Dave is any different, only that he's doing it more publicly on ebay
while others may be playing the same game with private
sales.
