sheese...... politics. If you don't already realize it, everything is
political. Just ask anyone who works for the government. I'm gonna make some
quick
assumptions and you can point it out to me if I'm wrong.
1. Bush travels to "stricken" states. Doesn't tell the local government,
they hear it on CNN. tell me, is the "local" government democratic or
republican? I don't know, but I bet democrat
2. General McCaffe....(sp?) stated, the national guard should have been
mobilized and in place "before" the huricane.... not after.... I agree. Once
again, is this a republican or democratic state were talking about sending the
guard to? AND... the guard said.... Uh.. most of our equipment is
overseas.... were having trouble just finding equipment to send......
3. Anyone seen Cheney or Colin Powell around? They are both absent for
opposite reasons.
4. Claude pointed out Bush is suggesting giving loans to oil companies.
Here is what some of the oil companies are making.... this is how much their
PROFITS have increased in the last 3 years.......
Marathon profits up 91% 2004 to 2005, 156% 2002 to 2003
Chevron-Texaco up 540% 2002 to 2003, up 84% 2003 to 2004
Exon-Mobile up 88% 2002 to 2003, up 32% last year
Shell up 34% 2002 to 2003, up 48% 2003 to 2004, up another 50% 2004 to 2005
Tesoro 2003 to 2004, up 331%
BP Amoco up 50% 2002 to 2003, up another 53% 2003 t 2004,and another 38%
2004 to 2005
I think they really need a cash infusion. (NOT) people should be outraged at
the thought of our government loaning them money.
