Well, it doesn't suprise me in the slightest. I am sure the studios have teams of full time researchers chained to the archives just making lists of films that can come under the remit of 'the update' and 'making it real for a new generation'. Poor souls.
Remakes have been doing the rounds for yonks. It's just a shame that many are stinky.
