One case of somewhat recent "vintage": Lionel Tate drew national and
international attention in 2001 when he became the youngest American ever
sentenced to life. He was convicted of the 1999 murder of 6-year-old playmate,
Tiffany Eunick. Tate was 12 at the time of the girl's death, and his attorneys
argued he was imitating professional wrestling moves when he accidentally killed
her.

HOSTEL
Doc,
So would you be willing to use your extensive
background and experience to enlighten us on the issues I mentioned?
Personally, I think you would rather be content in giving us your resumé and
hoping that we assume it somehow applies towards the original
topic.
And why do I have to have a comparable background to express an
opinion? By that logic, since you have more experience in some areas
that I do, my opinion MUST be wrong? Do I have to be a monthly contributor to
Sight & Sound to establish credit with you?
I'm not trying to
teach anyone anything. I'm simply offering a different
perspective. I am not forcing my ideaologies on anyone here.
Also, can you please explain how being a boxer adds merit to your
opinion? Can you satisfactorily argue that modern-day boxing is
comparable to the fatalistic nature of the Colosseum games? Can you
explain how your three minute death adds to your examination of the horror
film? Can you explain why someone has to have children to have ideas on
how they would want to raise them? Can you debate anything at
all?
You haven't addressed a single item I've presented; you've
casually discarded them because they are contrary to your point of view.
You are obviously set in your ways and that's fine. I've said my
peace.

Well- I'm glad i have you to teach me about the horror film, since I've
been resident horror writer in Movie Collectors World for the past 3 1/2
years and been collecting horror since 1960 long before you were born I'm
sure. I don't see your column in there? I was an English and a
Theatre major. And as far as the gladiator days go. I know exactly what that
is, having been a professional boxer since I was 17 till I was in my late
20's. Speaking of death. I was pronounced dead once. It's one hell of a
three minute rush! And on parenting. You have no children and i
have a 30 year old and a 25 year old and 2 grandchildren 7. Now, what was it
you wanted to TEACH me?? the doctor
