what is the thought of these handful of sellers that list posters for a
quarter of a million dollars or more? these same listings appear over and
over,
as tho the seller were waving a sign that says, "see what i have." they are
never bid on or bought outright. i am always amused to see these pop up.

i guess it is a way to "show off" as no one, in general, is going to pay
these kinds of prices.

That is just a sales tool, to get viewers to look at a sellers other
listings. It only works when you are listing truly rare titles.

I resorted once, to that lowly tactic myself. I listed my TWENTIETH
CENTURY, and my KID FROM BORNEO 1-sheets, along with a few other unique
posters, at
ridiculously high prices, just to attract attention to my .99 cent, no
reserve offerings. Surprisingly enough, the listings opened a dialogue, and I
sold
one of the wildly overpriced posters, for a somewhat lesser price.
