Actually, Claude, I'm now selling a lot of sculptural items and
Superhero action figures on EBAY -- it's become more lucrative than
movie posters. So, sometimes these boxes can be large and heavy.
There are a lot of variables including the fact that I like to buy new
cardboard boxes for shipping rather than recycle used ones (which
would obviously be cheaper). Anyway, I'm riding the horse in the
direction its going and I guess that's about all I can do. When I
discussed the matter with an EBAY rep he basically told me point blank
that I should just consider raising my selling prices to include my
shipping expeses and offering free shipping on everything as a way to
avoid problems with EBAY. C

I think this is crazy. Can't you explain in your listing how you
ship a poster, what the weight is, what the cost to ship is and
charge that amount? To settle for less makes no sense because this
means you need to add to your charge for the poster.
You ship either flat or in a tube. Why not price out each size in
advance with weight and shipping charges? Then ebay can't tell you
that you are over charging.
