It is not only newbies who have this problem! I purchased a $1,600 linen six-sheet and a $2,000 set of 8 lobby cards from Sotheby's in 1992, and they charged me their usual rip-off shipping (in this case around $200). That didn't bother me nearly as much as when I received a single very long tube, with the set of cards rolled within the lonen six-sheet!
Fortunately, the cards were curled and not creased, and leaving the cards under heavy weight for six months solved the problem, but it could have been a disaster.
