Hi Paul and Tom,

I asked Ed to take a quick look at these for you and here is his response:

The Goldfinger is an 1980s release. CIC closed in 1981 due to MGM buying UA
and creating a contract conflict so UIP was created to replace CIC.

The Dr. No and the Thunderball are both reissues. The quickest way to tell
is the Transamerica logo. Transamerica bought UA in 1967. Also, the earliest
Rotopress tag that we have on file is 1978. Rotopress mainly operated in the
1980s.

Regards,

Sue

Hi Paul:

It could very well be that the UIP Goldfinger is from the early 1980's. I
have the Locandina of Dr. No and the 39" x 55" of Thunderball. I have always
considered them both to be from the 1971 re-release. Could not see the
printers marks on the images Dave posted.

Best,

Tom/Dave, I believe distributor UIP was only set up in late 1981, so that
would make it 80s or later.
In fact, checking against learnaboutmovieposters - they have it as 1983.

learnaboutmovieposters also have the Dr No as 1980, because of printer
Rotopress.
Thunderball is also Rotopress, so guess that must be 1980-ish too (The
Thunderball re-release I have is Grafitalia.)

Paul
