Inherit the Wind is (and has been for 47 years) one of my 3 or 4 most
favorite movies. Great script and some of the finest actors ever lived.

But, until it was mentioned to me a few weeks ago, it never "clicked" in my
brain that both lead actors had played the lead in "Dr. Jeckyl & Mr. Hyde"
and only a few years apart!

Sidebar: One of my very favorite actors ever is Paul Muni. He starred in the
Broadway play of Inherit the Wind (opposite Ed Begley), and he would have
played the lead in the movie, except he got cancer in his eye just before,
and Tracy was cast. He also had been the lead in Broadway's Counsellor at
Law, and was passed over for the movie version (John Barrymore got the part)
because he wasn't a big enough star.

As much as I love Hollywood's Inherit the Wind and Counsellor at Law, I
would give anything to see Muni's take on both roles.
