That's why Cry of the City is probably my favorite noir poster. It best
captures the cinematography involved in making a great noir. Some poster I
love such as Detour and Gun Crazy didn't make the list because they are
bright and a bit cartoony.

i understand that the point of the comments is to select poster(s) that
truly depict the "noir" mood of film noir classics.

 

understanding "noir" takes time.  but i believe noir involves so much of
dark, dark camera angles, images & shadows and shadows and shadows.

 

it is sorta ironic and contradictory that noir film posters often had
artwork colorful images.
