Interesting face-off.
Think I'll re-watch both over Christmas, probably have a clearer
opinion about which I think is better quality then.
Love The Killing, more popular here, one of my favourite Kubrick films
and I've seen Paths of Glory far less.
Not least I imagine because the subject matter rightly makes Paths of
Glory a far less enjoyable experience.
And, while I really like it, was The Killing particularly original?
(The Asphalt Jungle springs to mind.)
Paths of Glory, has to be the more important film.
Banned in France, (I take no pleasure in that), and by Franco, which
can't be a bad thing.
PS: I have paper on most of the Kubrick titles, but haven't felt
inclined with Paths of Glory, (BOMBSHELL!!!!!).
Any suggestions on nice art for that one appreciated.

sometimes I vote twice- from home & from office. when I'm far more
in favor of one film particularly. But sometimes I vote against

yesterday Bruce had Kubrick - the Killing vs Paths of Glory
I'm shocked that Paths of Glory won this battle, especially by a
2.5-1 ratio
I love both films, and Paths is a wonderful film, but I think that
the Killing is a far superior product, even though it is a bit more
"raw" than Paths of Glory
Paths has some very stilted acting during some segments. Adolphe
Menjou in some and Wayne Morris in some others, which I don't think
the Killing has at all.
what say the rest of you?
