Hi Neil and Mopoers! Many sellers don´t accept pay-pal because they distrust the buyer. If someone stold your credit card or credit card information and makes purchases with it after an investigation the bank may take away the funds from the seller. I often purchase from retailers in the US and many don´t accept credit card payments from someone they don´t know; some would ask you for a recommendation from another seller to accept your payment. A wire transfer fee (commonly called tt) in Mexico usually cost about US$10-US$25; the receiving bank also charges the consignee an incoming transfer fee of a similar or even larger cost. In the case of HK an incoming transfer fee cost up to US$30 and the sellers usually charges it on his invoice. Using wires transfers has been a common practice in international business for decades, there is nothing new about it except that now there are many less expensive, but not more secure ways of sending and receiving money. My clients in South and Central America usually use Western Union or Money Gram to send funds to Mexico because they offer lower fees than banks. It is possible that those companies may offer similar services between England and Spain. I hope this information has been helpful to you and all.
