I haven't done the numbers but in terms of a homerun hitter I think Billy Wilder has to be way up there. Yes, in later years he fanned at a lot of pitches but in his prime (and his prime lasted about 15 years) he knocked a lot out of the park: Double Indemnity, Sunset Boulevard, Lost Weekend, Sabrina, The Seven Year Itch, Some Like It Hot, The Apartment.

And which ones (among the superstars) have the highest percentage of "strike outs"? Now of course it HAS to be a percentage game, because some directors did 20 movies and some did 100. If the person with 20 has two losers, then the guy with 100 is entitled to ten (by my way of thinking!). Answers?
