great question- today i applauded paul allen of vulcan - Gates microsoft partner for doing aa daring and inovation movie in movie exhibition.. http://www.cinerama.com/ I believe the presentation is just as imprortant as the movies themselves.. and the advertising and old explotation promotion men where also a big part of movies... thats wht we basically colect is he art of the movies?? , the Ballyhoo, the teasers, the trailers, the press kits and the movie buzz...Tonight when we saw Dumb and dumber I thought what has this business become..?? most of it is a one shot grab at the money and atplaying to the ticket buyers I guess 15-38 demos as thats who can afford the 50.00 for 2 tickets and a cokes and popcorn... the elderly retirees,, cant even get to the theater...the middle class familys have too many peoel for tckets so they stay home and watch big screen Tvs or online streaming... so who wants a movie experience? allen plans to charge 15 per ticket,,, But they just built a laser light 60,000 K lumens lamphouse state of the art digital and 100 strtegic placed speakers with sound that will almost sound lke its real.. and they cut back to 450 plush seats,,so its like a perfect screening room and only one sceen.. they also have arcival 35mm, 70mm, and 3 projector cinerama projection( one of the last in USA) so its realy a marvel ofmovie history and he also has costumes on display, and artifacts and Im sure Posters.....so I think this will preserve Posters and movie art and history ina big way.... the rest of the movie industry needs a Bigime corection... ifthey want regular goers and you have 500 empty seats per night someone needs to fill them.as its wasted space and the group interaction is what makes movies a experience to share.... also my son said the 550popcorc is how they make thier money... well not fro me... and my overall experience SUCKED.. I was along with 3 peopel in a theater watchinga funny film with no shared laughs and no popcorn..to me what made movies fun was when Ushers made us feel special and guided us to a crowed room seat with flaslights and made us feel we wher at a cool event.. then when we ent to the consession stand the popcorn was the mood enhancer and accouterment to the movie NOT the same cost as the movie.. wouldnt it be better to just say the movie is for two 25.00 and includes two drinks and a medium popcorn,, as they have nickles into it and if there was more peopel the entire business would be alive...now I di go ona wed... but I doubt these place ae everpacked,, as we lost 4 cineplex theaters in a few years,, there is simply no demand and they are outpriced.. POOR value and Product sucks..so then I looked at the posters..... looks lke a damn Morgue.. all photoshop crap that all looks the same like someoen without a bt of artist talent or passion for the movies of humanity that is cranking them out/// I told the concession Kid,,,, you dont get it.. when I say I may not attend a theater much again.. I have spent 38 years of my life around this stuff... all I wanted was entertainment, time with my son and a box of popcorn..and a good flick.. is that asking to much...?? and does it have to be 40-50.00?? no wonder theater are obsolete . the best part was seeing my son. as for the posters and promoting unless you like pre -2000 movies its seems to be a watse of time and money.. very few films that ae making mememories these days..IMHO

I don't know about anyone else, but every day from 5pm to 7pm I
stand on the corner of Scottsdale Road and Camelback (one of the
busiest intersections in town) with a huge sign that reads "BUY MOVIE
POSTERS". I toss it up in the air and flip it around and do a
little dance. It seems to be working.
