This involves the liquidation of an estate and its distribution. The lawyers
have asked their clients to obtain valuations of various parts of the estate
including a large movie poster collection. The lawyer probably has little or no
knowledge of movie posters but investigating the legalities will no doubt rack
up some hefty fees.

The quoted portion purporting to come from a lawyer, does not sound like the
language or style of a lawyer. What was the purpose of the letter? I am sure
that we would all like to see and laugh at that letter.

Hi to you all

I know this topic comes up every so often but a collector has just been
contacted by a lawyer who has said ….

“In this regard, it has come to my attention that some (or all) of the posters
may remain property of the distributors and unsaleable. I will look into this
issue as soon as possible”.

I seem to remember that the reasons that movie posters can be sold legally have
been quoted on MoPo in the last but it would be great if someone could provide
the legal terminology (or something close to it) that allows movie posters to
be sold.

Regards

John
