The position is open at an R&D based pharmaceutical company in Toronto,
Canada and pays CAD$70-90k/yr.

Biostatistician

The lndividual will join the Analytical Support and Improvement team.
Reporting to the Manager, Quality Trends and Statistical Analysis,
responsibilities will include:

* Under the general direction of the Head Biostatistician, provides
statistical services (consultation, data analyses and comprehensive
reports) in support of the Quality Organisation and Research to Launch
initiatives.

* Provides and coordinates, as required, the review of statistical
analyses and reports from other statisticians such as contract
Biostatisticians.

* Validates and (where necessary) develops calculations and statistical
computer programs for product test data analysis.

* Reviews the statistical literature and maintains current knowledge
of industry standards in order to develop statistical computer programs
and standard modules for specific biostatistical applications.

* Provides training of scientific staff, consultation on statistical
matters and resource estimates for project/budget planning.

* The ideal candidate will possess:

* Ph D or equivalent in Biostatistics or Statistics;
* Three (3) years of relevant experience;
* Strong SAS-coding skills;
* Good oral communication and report writing ability;
* Ability to function independently and in a team environment;
* Experience that includes experimental design, statistical analysis
of laboratory analytical assay and assay validation data.
* Some training in a Biological Science would be an asset along with
the demonstrated ability to work with and communicate statistical
principles to scientists, managers and technologists.
* Pre clinical experience an asset.
* Strong report analysis and writing skills.
