Subject: Outlines (Fourier) vs. Semi-landmarks

Hello to all!

I am wondering which method is more appropriate for shape analysis of rodent
mandibles - outlines (Elliptic Fourier Analysis) or semi-landmarks.
Mandibles are from different genera of rodents.

I know that with outlines I can't include structures 'inside' the outline
(on the mandible) but I think with outlines I can capture the shape more
precisely.

What I am wondering is which method gives more accurate results (besides the
influence of differently captured data).

Thank you very much for your replies!
