Hi,
I am a Phd Student from Lyon university
Please, could you illuminate my mind about some points in MorphoJ ?
1- For Procrustes fit, how could I define and write for example 8 or 10
landmarks *in "Align using specific landmarks*" ?
I do not understand what mean the following phrase from the guide user
: Text fields are for specifying two points on the left and right sides
of the first axis (normally shown as the horizontal in graphs) and, for
3D data, a third points that will be used with the first two to define
the plane of the first and second axes. Could be right and possible to
superimpose 100 landmarks for example on 15 landmarks only imported as
outline file ?
How look like the outline format ?
2- Which statistics formulas is being used for PCA analysis after
generating the matrix covariance from the procrustes fit ? Could
you notice to me please how variances are computed ? between specimens
or within individuals points of each specimen separately ?
Many many thanks
Cheers

Dear Bachar
For 3D data in the TPS format, use"LM3=" instead of"LM=".
Here is the corrresponding spec from the help file from tpsSmall
(as far
as I know, this is the official documentation for 3D data in the TPS
series):
"For 3D data use the LM3= keyword rather than the LM= keyword and list
the x, y, z coordinates of each specimen with one line for each
landmark."
(The next release of MorphoJ will give a more detailed output in the
error message.)
If I fix that problem, I get a second error about the number of
landmarks.
Also, I get errors if I try to open the file with tpsSmall -- perhaps
you want to try with an example with fewer than 100 landmarks first.
Best wishes,
Chris
