Aurélien,
I have worked a lot with IDAV Landmark, and yes i'm afraid it does
crash. I ended up isolating the few bugs it had and just boycotting that
sequence of events. One thing I found is that you shouldn't add any more
meshes into the project once you've started landmarking (or if you do,
close the software and start it up again). Not sure what you are doing
exactly with the averages- if you want species average of a
configuration of landmarks, i'd suggest you get that once you've done a
Procrustes fit. Landmark -> MorphoJ is a well tested transition, and the
latter take .dta files directly (as NTS fie format).
I'm not sure Landmark is being developed any more, but the original
software author David Wiley has a new piece of software, Checkpoint
(http://www.stratovan.com/products/detail.php?appID=2). It does all that
landmark did plus more. Maybe it'll work better for you?
Best of luck,
Emma

Dear colleagues,
I am currently using the Landmark software (IDAV) to work on 3D surface
scans of craniums.
I've been facing some problems with the software: it crashes a lot
especially when I'm trying to obtain a species average.
I tried to run the program on three different computers (laptops and
desktop computers) with different version of windows (XP, Vista and 7),
I reduced the number of faces/triangles of my 3D models, but the
problem
remains.
Does anyone know about this?
Thanks a lot.
Best,
Aurélien
