Dear all,
For my diploma thesis I work on skull shapes of Desmognathus species.
Therefore I get my landmark data with a reflex microscope and saved
the data for every specimen in an extra excel file. I took 20 dorsal
landmarks and 23 ventral landmarks and put them all in one file.
After that I saved the data for every specimen from this excel files
in a tab delimited text file and put them into the file converter, to
create a text file for MorphoJ.
Now here is my problem: there seems to be no depth in my data on
MorphoJ. The x and y coordinates look right, but all z data are on a
single line. Does anybody have an idea what is going wrong?
I have tried a lot of things to resolve this problem and want to list
them shortly:
- look at the data in a coordinate system (x and y, x and z, y and z)
in excel, they look right and there is a clear depth
- saving in different txt file types – nothing changes
- retyped the z-data
- different excel types (97-2000, 2003, 2010)
- only dorsal views, only ventral views - they are flat, too
- some data are negative, so I just added 10 or something, to get
positive values
Did anybody else have had a similar problem like me? Or did anybody
have an idea to resolve the problem? I would be very thankful, because
now I´m quite despaired.

Thank you a very lot!

With best regards,
Sandra Triepel
