Dear morphometrics,
I wondered if it is reasonable from a mathematically view to test for
overall significance (F-test) of the regression when applying a model
II regression (in my case major axis regression & standard major axis
regression). I tested for the significance of individual regression
parameters (slope, intercept) by permutation, confidence intervals or
the method of Warton et al. (2006). However, wouldn’t the overall test
provide some more general information about the significance of the
coefficient of determination (r2) rather than only about the
‘goodness’ of single parameters?
And if the overall test is reasonable, has it already been implanted in R?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
Patrick Arnold
