I teach 1st grade and we have been working on inferring. This week I would like to use texts that support inferring character feelings and motives. I am going to start with OWEN by Kevin Henkes. I could use other text of his but would like to hear what you all might suggest! I will use some of the language suggested in F & P......"Bring us to the place in the text" and "How do you know?" Any suggestions on language, approach and BOOK titles would be greatly appreciated.
