Hello, I am a student teacher in a classroom where many students are achieving below their current grade level. Students are rarely engaged in reading assignments and seldom read as a leisure activity. As a result, many students are unable to pass assessments related to reading assignments. What comprehension strategies work best with students who are achieving below grade level? What kinds of activities keep students engaged in reading?
