Many of you have indicated an interest in having a weekly strategy
discussion this summer based on comprehension strategies outlined in
Strategies That Work.  In order to make this discussion as productive as
possible we have worked to create a schedule of topics.  By sticking to this
schedule hopefully we will be able to take advantage of the many experiences
of the members of our online community in an organized and easy to follow
manner.   At the beginning of each week I will post the weekly topic along
with some questions that I have or resources that I have found to be helpful
­ just to get the ball rolling a bit.  I will be out of the country from
July 9-26 so the weekly prompts during that time will come from Joy or one
of our other members.
 
There are some netiquette procedures to follow that will help to make this
easier for all of our members.  If you are responding to a post, do not
include everything in the previous post.  Cut and paste the portion you are
responding to then follow with your response.  You may also need to change
the subject line if you are changing the topic in some way.  Please also
include your grade level or position with your post.  Remember, not everyone
on this list may be interested in following these discussions and we want to
make it easy for everyone to either follow or discard as they wish.  If you
have a comment or question that isn¹t for the whole group, email that person
individually to avoid bogging down list discussions.
 
I know many of you have some great files to share, Keith will post will
information on how to do this so that everyone can access them easily.
 
Please don¹t hold back from lack of experience, we can all learn from each
other and the questions that you have may be the same ones others would like
to know.  I am really looking forward to these discussions and using this
information in my classroom next year!!
