Kelly, My district has grade level common assessments. I am in Georgia. We give an overall "pretest" in August, a second assessment at the end of the first nine weeks (late September early October), a third assessment in December, then the pretest, exactly the same, in March. Our Georgia CRCT is given in April. This is my first year giving these so I really don't have an opinion yet. Our scores are gathered on Performance Matters. I am of the personal opinion that we do way too much testing. I do use the data to guide my small group instruction, and I try very hard to feel positive, but I have been teaching way too long to feel that the number of days testing should be what we are presently doing.
