I always try to balance my curriculum with hands-on learning and text. It's not easy and takes some work but the results are worth it. A good balance works well with different types of learners. Sticking to one way of teaching may hinder some learners. Just text is so boring! If i have a hard time teaching it, I can only imagine those trying to learn it is feeling.
