Try compiling latest trunk from github:
git clone https://github.com/Mr-Dave/motion.git
cd motion
./configure
make
If it still fails with same error - check this discussion:
https://github.com/Mr-Dave/motion/pull/71
This is known issue. There is permanent fix for your OS or either temporary
hack for motion
If you still need help, ask on that github thread or here in maillist

Finally I managed to compile just before I received your e-mail.
Here is what I did :
# Get the latest version (Because I did not managed to make the 3.2 work ...) :
svn co http://www.lavrsen.dk/svn/motion/trunk/ .
#Install missing library videodev.h (on my distro) :
# Warning : Do not take videodev2.h ! It lakes a lot of constant definitions
... (eg: VIDEO_PALETTE_YUV420P not declared) !
sudo apt-get install libv4l-dev
sudo ln -s /usr/include/libv4l1-videodev.h /usr/include/linux/videodev.h
# Re-install FFMPEG manually :
git clone https://github.com/FFmpeg/FFmpeg
sudo apt-get install yasm
./configure
make
make install
# Install motion :
./configure
# In Makefile, in LIBS= , you need to add (for FFMPEG) : -lswresample
# Then insert #include <linux/videodev2.h> in track.h (else motion won't
compile because of missing declarations)
# Then finish the installation :
make
make install
# Finally, I downloaded the latest motion.conf because my version was outdated
# See http://www.lavrsen.dk/foswiki/bin/view/Motion/WorkingConfigs
