Subject: [Motion-user] Netcam 401 unauthorized issue

Hi
This is likely me being stupid but I?ve just added a Hilook IP camera to my
Motion installation and it will not connect via http. I already have one
Hilook, a different model but that is running fine.
The new camera is functioning in that it has been enabled via their software.
But what throws me is I can wget an image from the camera on the same server (a
Pi 3B) using the netcam_url and netcam_userpass strings from the .conf file,
yet Motion logs an 401 unauthorized response. The password is just
alphanumeric, no oddball characters. It was 14 characters so I changed it to 8
in case it was truncated somehow - no difference.
Motion has been restarted each time I?ve experimented so it is definitely
fresh. It?s version 4.1.1 but the same thing happens on 4.2.2 on a test server.
It?s not particularly vital as the new cam appears work via RTSP but that?s a
learning curve - like the CPU shooting up to 250% until I read up and dropped
the frame rate right down.
But why the http 401 issue? Not sure what else I can change?
Thanks
Jeremy
