Okay, I don't know for sure what it was I futzed with in the Axis software of
the cam, but I guess I did something right as I can now reach the cam picture
using Motion each and every time I try it. So, no more need to remove the
power then plug it back in or stop and then restart Motion.

Hi folks,
My last e-mail was sort of what I needed a little help with, and part of it is
still in this line of questioning.
When I do shut down a page of Motion in the browser, what happens is, suddenly
the camera starts to do something weird by flooding my router with a signal (I
guess it is).
What I mean is, after I close the Motion page in the browser, if I try to go
surfing or look at e-mail, everything has moved to a excruciatingly slow crawl
and I'll look over at the router and see the two ports I have the cables
plugged into just blinking like there's no tomorrow.
*This* is when I have to unplug the camera to get my internet speed back, and
sometimes that still hasn't helped and I need to reboot the router as well.
I went into the router and saw that in the 'LAN' tab, under 'Active Clients' I
don't see the Axis cam anymore.
When I plug the cam back in and give it the
time it needs to finally 'connect', it will be back as an 'active' client and
things will be normal and running fine and fast.
So, I think what's happening is the camera is trying to reconnect to the
router? I guess it still is a question I need to ask help with - is there a
way to keep the camera as an 'active client' in the router after it's closed
down in the browser by Motion? I simply have no clue whether it will be in the
Motion config, the Axis config or the Router config, and I'm hoping somone
reading will have a clue about what I can possibly do or try.
Thanks,
JB

Hey guys,
I made a mask.pgm, but the Motion guide doesn't say where to put it to be read
when I start Motion up. Where should it be placed?

Same directory as motion.conf, or the threadx.conf files.
