Subject: Alert: Green-breasted Mango! From: "Korducki" Date: Tue, 18 Sep 2007 20:27:48 -0500 I just received a call from Charles Ramsen from Beloit. He observed a mystery hummingbird at a town of Beloit feeder that he is convinced is a Green-breasted Mango. He said that it is an immature bird that perfectly matched the photo in the Kaufman guide. The bird was seen in the late afternoon today on his third attempt. The home owner (Joan Salzberg) doesn't want people to call her but is fine with people coming to her property. Initially it was thought that this bird was a Rufous but Charles was stunned to see what he feels is indeed a mango. The home is located at 3709 W. Sandale Rd. This is a dead end road that can be reached from Hwy. 213 outside of Beloit as you head toward Madison. It is the first driveway on the right. The feeder is close to the home and can be viewed from either side of the shed which is located by the garage. Please post any updates or especially photos. It has been seen in the morning and today was found in the late afternoon.
