This afternoon Bob Williams and I birded the large sewage ponds on the north side of Annandale in northwest Wright County. There are four ponds present here, and the water level in each was fairly low. The best habitat was at the pond farthest west. Present were:
Semipalmated Plover Killldeer Spotted Sandpiper Lesser Yellowlegs Solitary Sandpiper Semipalmated Sandpiper Least Sandpiper Pectoral Sandpiper Wilson's Phalarope I'm guessing these ponds will stay attractive to shorebirds in the weeks to come, and thus is probably a place worth checking out if you're in the area.
