This afternoon I enjoyed seeing my first spring migrant a male Red-winged Blackbird singing on territory from a cattail marsh along Black Dog Road in Dakota County. For me here in the Metro this is about a week earlier than usual and a welcome sight as a harbinger of what Spring has to offer.
