Some lucky first-graders got to enjoy the last "Winter Birds" program
of the season at Carpenter today. Though not among their "target
species" for our little walk, redpolls and siskins showed up for the
fun. Staff members also reported that ww crossbills, heard rather than
seen during the walks, had been on the premises earlier. The children,
of course, were just as excited about chickadees, eagle, and---wait
for it!---honking Canada Geese in flight, among other things.
Take a kid birding, and catch a great attitude.
