On Saturday at 7AM 75 hearty birders were waiting at the Marietta American
Legion to begin the 37th annual Salt Lake bird count. 128 different species

The star location was Cory Lake, an 150 acre prairie lake being drained by the
DNR, it held over 2,000 shorebirds. It's part of Hamlin WMA and located south
east of US highways 212 and 75. We found two White-faced Ibis, 14 Long-billed
Dowitcher, one Marbled Godwit, numerous Greater Yellowlegs, Lesser Yellowlegs
and Pectoral Sandpipers, as well as Semipalmated Plover, Dunlin, Willet,
