I watched 7 American Woodcock displaying last evening in Elm Creek Park in Hennepin County. Many courtship calls and murmur calls heard, and territorial flights observed. Activity began promptly at 7:30 PM with an ambient temp of 48 degrees, and stopped just as abruptly at 8:15 pm when the ambient temp had dropped below 40 degrees. Videos are posted on the Minnesota Birding Facebook page. Good Birding!
