Hello -

A few stops over the weekend and some notes to consider:

*Lake Byllesby*, near the cemetery/county park, is a vast field of mud.
Several dozen Lesser Yellow Legs present on Saturday and hopefully good for
more shorebird variety in the next few weeks ahead. The trail between the
county "park" and the cemetery, alongside the railroad tracks, has been
blocked with a No Trespassing sign. Horned Grebes and Ruddy Ducks can be
seen from the boat launch on the south side.

On Saturday evening, Vesper Sparrows, Field Sparrows and a single Brown
Thrasher were singing at *Grey Cloud Dunes SNA* near Cottage Grove. Wild
strawberries are greening up, too. Also had a nice trio of American
Woodcocks peenting at sunset on the northern end. All in all, a fine day
before the snow.
