I heard several hermit thrushes singing in my mixed spruce deciduous woods near Aitkin Sunday AM. This is the first I have heard them sing in this location over the last 20+ years. I’ve heard them often living in Alaska and camping further north but what a treat to hear them on my land. Also several yellow-throated vireos singing vigorously. Heard and seen for ID. Their song had an interesting variation at the end of the song comparing to their song recorded in Sibley’s app. Steve Kirkhorn Hennepin Cty.
