I heard several hermit thrushes singing in my mixed spruce deciduous woods near
Aitkin Sunday AM. This is the first I have heard them sing in this location
over the last 20+ years. I’ve heard them often living in Alaska and camping
further north but what a treat to hear them on my land.
Also several yellow-throated vireos singing vigorously. Heard and seen for ID.
Their song had an interesting variation at the end of the song comparing to
their song recorded in Sibley’s app.
