A Black-billed Cuckoo salvaged what otherwise would have been an uneventful evening of birding in the small nature area behind our Chanhassen home. It surprised me by moving from branch to branch in a very thick bush adjacent to a pond, but then sat quietly, offering great views from a distance of about 6 feet. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get any photos due to the density of the vegetation, but I had what were easily the best looks I've ever had of a Cuckoo. Other than the Cuckoo, it was pretty slow as far as seeing new migrants
