On the east end of Lilydale Road, next to Pickerel Lake, there was easily visible warbler action at eye-height, mid-morning yesterday. The most prominent was the male Golden-wing in breeding plumage, but there were other species present as well, such as Tennessee and Nashville. Though the pause it put in the power-walk was intentionally brief, I was glad to have worn binoculars. Warbler movement is picking up at bird-banding, and it's worth having binoculars handy for any outdoor activity! Linda Whyte
