thanks for your response. Naturally, all Oz user highly welcome such projects! 
If these students create something they want to use themselves, then thats 
likely the best motivation there is :)

I suggest we give these students developer write access to the Collozeum 
repository, then they are "quite in charge of this project".

Shortly, I didn't choose the editor.

Actually, some students asked if we would support them in their project
to write a gedit plugin for Oz. To see where the problems would be I
started a small prototype which after the week-end was already usable. I
gave this prototype to both Boriss and the students. I presume the
students are improving it on their own. I'll have more news on this
Thursday evening. Hosting this project on Collozeum would be really nice
but I would like the students to feel quite in charge of this project
because such initiative are rare and deserve some "glory".
