All Composer should do in this case is add, modify, or remove text.

Well you're not forced to use the formatting controls...

Grab one image and drag it into a new location on the page. Save the page, then open it with your second favorite text editor. Read all the Composer styles added to the moved image, notice the lack of styles in the image not touched.

I couldn't reproduce this. I started with a simple page: <img src="about:logo"><br><br> and dragged the image down; it resulted in <br><br><img src="about:logo"> as I expected.

Hello Neil,

I tried this again with an older version of a web page I created with Composer and I received the same results as you did, no added positioning CSS elements. I don't have an explanation for this change in operation of Composer. What I do know for sure is that I had modified several web pages by moving images from one area of a table into another area, and when I validated the code I discovered several CSS positioning elements had been added to the moved images. Text that I had modified had added CSS elements for fonts as well.

I know I had changed the Composer preferences to not reformat the page, and to not use inline CSS in the document, and these had no effect. I also know I did not use the formatting buttons on the Composer toolbar. Perhaps the thunderstorm two weeks ago that forced me to shutdown and power off my system caused Mozilla to accept the preference changes I made after I powered up again. I don't know.

Perhaps I should barrow your tag line with a modification. Warning: May contain traces of nuts, and a few loose screws.

It is a good thing to have this group to voice our experiences with Mozilla, this is the only place I voice my difficulties with Mozilla, everywhere else I promote the products with zeal. Thanks for sticking with this thread.
