Wild guess: perhaps you had pasted the text in from Word, and Composer
was trying to preserve the font that Word used? If that's a problem, I
think there is a command Paste Without Formatting, unfortunately I

Oh yes, I have done that once before, once was enough to convince me we
cannot copy text out of Word without pasting it into a text editor that
strips out all the Word crap.
