You cannot link NSPR statically, it won't work. Even in a happy new GRE world you probably have to ship the NSPR DLLs with your app, because you can't use the XPCOM standalone glue without them.
You _can_ statically link with some work -- but the savings, at least on linux, are really worth it.
I should really fix up the glue to avoid nspr. /me grumbles about not enough time.
