This is such an insane distortion I can't believe it, and you've been active
in the bug so you know very well that you are being deceptive.

1) Mozilla does have code that copies each URL to an OS readable file. Just
like all other browsers have always done. It's called the "History" file.
But that's not what bug 71270 is about.

2) textfiles on your disk are never readable by anyone on the internet via
the Mozilla browser. Not even the history file that contains all the URLs
you've visited. But this bug isn't about textfiles

3) This bug complains that Mozilla copies the navigation bar URL field to a
hidden native text widget. If Mozilla's interface were not written in XUL
(which many people have complained about) then the URL field would *be* a
native text widget. Just like in Navigator, IE and Opera.

4) native text widgets cannot ever be read by anyone on the internet.

5) the offending code does not save or send the URL anywhere -- it is not
"spyware".

This code makes it slightly easier for other applications running on your
own computer to see what URL you're on when using Mozilla, but no easier
than it already is in all other windows applications like IE or Navigator.
Taking this code out does not prevent other applications running on your own
computer from figuring that out anyway. The "spyware", if there is any, is
in the *other* programs you have installed and are running on your own
computer.

I don't personally care which way this bug goes (and if it's slowing the
browser down I'd say yank the offending code), but I'm really pissed at your
outright lies and your manipulative attempt to get your own way.
