When you installed it as root, Mozilla runs with the root user for the first
time, while the term window is still open. Did you close this terminal
window /before/ closing Mozilla or afterwards? Because I had the same
problem once. Seems like for the first run as root Mozilla has to be closed
first and then the term install window.
